Manual

  • Open the menu in upper-right corner of the screen.
  • SimpleCap saves a screenshot image in the folder "SimpleCap Images" on Desktop.
  • The filename is automatically generated. (ex) 090602-0021.png *2009 June 2, 21th file

  • You can take a window image.

Using Timer

  • The window screenshot is taken when the count is 0.
  • You can move or resize the window while the timer is counting down.

  • Specify an area. Push buttons on upper-right corner.

Using Timer

  • A screenshot in the rectangle area is taken when the count is 0.
  • You can move or resize the rectangle while the timer is counting down.

  • After the timer starts counting down, open menu that you want to take.
  • The menu screenshot is taken when the count is 0.

  • You can take screenshot of all windows in application program that you select.

  • After selecting an application,the timer starts counting down.

  • Make menubar actual width
At default, the capture image includes all menu items from the left.

By using option "Make menubar actual width" it is able to clip image with actual width.

  • In Dashboard you can take widget screenshot images as well as window screenshot.

  • After taking screenshot, the viewer is shown.
  • The viewer shows image files in "SimpleCap Images" folder.

Rename

  • You can rename the filename by double clicking on the filename or pushing return key.
  • You can not rename the filename to existing filename in "SimpleCap images" folder.

Drag & Drop

  • You can drag and drop the image on viewer to other application.
  • If you darg and drop the image to Desktop, copied image is created.

Preferences

General

Image Format Select the image format.
Image Location Select the folder for save.
By default "SimpleCap Images" folder is created on Desktop automatically.
Hot Key Double click white rectangle then press key you may use as hot key.
ex) Command + 0
Press "Rest" then the hot key will be Option+Command+0.
Launch on login It is enable to launch SimpleCap on login automatically.

Options

  • This is effective excluding 'Selection'.
Image Options It is possible to add shadow or desktop image on the screenshot.
Screen Options It is possible to exclude Desktop icons.
*It is only for 'Screen'.
Menu Options It is possible to make menubar with actual width.
*It is only for 'Menu'.

Selection

  • This is effective for 'Selection'.
Image Options It is possible to process the screenshot image.
Preset Sizes You can set preset selection sizes.
These presets are used at 'QuickConfig' menu icon_config.png in Selection

Viewer

Background Pattern 'Black', 'White' and 'Checkboard' are availabe.
By default the background pattern is 'Black'.
Image bounds Show a borderline on the image.
Preset Applications You can set applications for viewer.

Mouse Cursor

Display mouse cursor (Timer only) You can choose whether including the mouse cursor when using Timer.
Use private function for cursor Mouse cursor image in screenshot is enabled to be WYSIWYG.
If it is disable then the mouse cursor image always becomes arrow cursor image.
* This option has the possibility of not operating normally in a certain PC because the private function is used.

Other topics

Hotkey

  • By clicking option + command + 0 keys SimpleCap menu opens.
  • It is possible to change hot key in preferences.

Reset Selection

  • By selecting 'Reset Selection' in menu you can reset the rectangle's size and position.
    You can use this when you miss the rectangle.
