Super programme, félicitations.
Comment le mettre en français ?
How to French ?
Merci.

@microbd

if your operating system is in french, then simplecap will start in french, that's how language localizations work.

konichiwa hiroshi, it's me again.

just to make some remarks about the simple viewer window:

1. don't make it "always on top".

when i send a picture to email or preview, they show up behind simple viewer window so i have to always close simple viewer because since it's "always on top" it doesn't let me see mail or preview window.

2. remember window size between simplecap launch and always reserve margin for the preset applications icons.

right now when i start simplecap, window is always at 93% and the icons of the preset applications show on top of the image. i have to stretch the window horizontally so the icons get away from the image.

3. add/remove and sort preset applications in preferences.

i had already asked for this but i just would like to add that it would be nice to be able to add (+), remove (-) and sort (drag up or down) the preset applications in preferences. also, currently there's a bug that when i remove applications and add them again but in different positions, when i close the preferences and click on one application, nothing happens. i have to quit and relaunch simplecap so the new positions are recognized.

arigatou gozai masu and best regards.

Kon-ni-chi-wa straycat.

> 1. don't make it "always on top".

OK, I will add a option to disable "always on top".

> 2. remember window size between simplecap launch and always reserve margin for the preset applications icons.

OK, I will do it.

> 3. add/remove and sort preset applications in preferences.

OK, You are right.

Please wait next version ( I am very busy now because twins were born last month ;-> )

Thanks a lot,
Hiroshi

thanks hiroshi.
of course, take your time, no hurry.
and congratulations on the twins! they should be your primary concern.

best wishes to you and your family.

I love this app, but please make an option to NOT open the capture in Simple Viewer. I want to take captures without being distracted by a preview every time.

xing June 20, 2010 9:28 AM

Hashiguchi-san, this is a superb app! In addition to what has been mentioned in the earlier comments, how about exploring the possibility of capturing a scrolling window (e.g. a webpage in a browser, PDF file in Preview)? This will be something like what Paparazzi! is for, but incorporated into a single, elegant app that is SimpleCap. Thanks!

@xing & @hashiguchi

i think paparazzi uses the webkit2png command line, so maybe it's easy to implement in simplecap: http://www.paulhammond.org/webkit2png/

cheers

hi hiroshi, how are the twins? =) almost 1 year old.

just to tell you the 'windows' function is broken. after i select it, if i switch apps with command-tab or change them on the dock, i lose the window focus and it captures an empty screenshot.

best wishes.

Hiroshi Hashiguchi January 16, 2011 7:42 AM

Hi straycat,

It is really after a long time. The twins are very good (They are too energetic. X-> )

I was not able to cause the problem of your post. It examines it a little more.

Well, I am beginning the development of next version 1.3 now. I think it is possible to release it in this month. It implements the requests by comment here. Moreover, new preset window and new history window in selection capture are added. Please wait for release a little.

straycat January 18, 2011 5:44 AM

thanks for the reply hiroshi.

what i mean is

1. click on simplecap menu icon
2. click on 'windows'
3. now if you click on the windows you have on the screen they get focus and it works
4. cancel operation
5. maximize one window (+)
6. click on 'windows' again
7. now you only see maximized window. try to change to another window with command-tab and you see it doesn't work
8. i have to quit simplecap for it to work again

thanks and no hurry, take your time please.

straycat January 18, 2011 6:00 AM

i forgot, command-` to switch between windows of the same app also doesn't work when using 'windows' capture.

also, since you're thinking of releasing v1.3 i have 3 more suggestions. tell me what you think:

1. make an option in preferences to set default countdown for timer (ex. 5 seconds, 3 seconds, etc.)

2. in 'screen' capture, when the timer begins, make an option in 'quick configuration' (yellow star icon) to choose all screens, screen 1 or screen 2

3. to be able to capture growl notifications in 'screen' capture

and don't forget, the 'about simplecap' window shows up in the background (behind maximized window). needs a fix =)
no hurries, let me know what you think.
cheers.
